Welcome!

Wildlife Photography

For me the best relaxation and inspiration is to spend time in the "bush". With my position in International Marketing for Thula Thula Private Game Reserve I spent a lot of time in one of the most spectacular game reserves on earth!

Nature Photography

The diversity of our planet is simply awesome, as are the opportunities to capture these with a camera. A focus onto nature and landscapes!

Travel Photography

During my career in the travel industry I have had the honour to travel to more than 140 countries on all 6 continents. Many of the experiences I was able to capture with my camera.

About me

My first camera I received as a Christmas present some 35 years ago. In the beginning my pictures were simply snap and go.
Over the years I developed an eye for artistic motives and unusual perspectives. With the help of a dear friend who is a professional photographer in South Africa I managed to improve the handling and technology of my camera equipment.
As my camera I utilise a Canon EOS 6D. I find the camera perfect for my use and in particularly love the features it offers.
As lenses I use a Sigma 12-24mm for unusual city and nature photography and my favourite lens is a Canon 200-400mm for wildlife photography and a Sigma 150-600mm for bird photography, sometimes with a double converter. In between I have a half dozen lenses for other purposes.

Pictures of the week

Thula Thula - South Africa

Thula Thula translated from Zulu means "Peace and Tranquility", and here one can be at peace with nature and wildlife. In this gorgeous protracted reserve in KwaZulu Natal photographic opportunities are endless!

Rhino Relocation

In May I had the honour to be part of the relocation of two rhino from Phinda to Thula Thula - here "Mona and Lisa" step out of their transport boxes for the first time in Thula Thula.

Antarctica

For me the ultimate dream was always to travel to Antartica. And about ten years ago I had the opportunity. The vastness of the 6th continent, the wilderness and wildlife was simply overwhelming.
